Business Development Manager - France
The Business Development Manager will be the first appointment in our client's business unit in France. Depending on the speed and precise scope of Airtricity's wind farm development activities in France, additional staff will be appointed. These are likely to include, wind analysis, project management, windfarm development and electrical engineering personnel.
In the interim, the Business Development Manager will be supported by windfarm development and wind analysis staff based in either Ireland or UK, with scope for secondment of such staff to France, if the business warrants it, pending recruitment of staff on a more permanent basis.
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will eventually report to the Country Manager, France.
The following are the key tasks to be undertaken within this role:
- Preparation of a market entry strategy in France
- Implementation of the agreed market entry strategy
- Preparation of a business plan for our client's development activities in France.
- Liaising with local landowners, municipalities and wind farm developers and/or regional aggregators to achieve business objectives
- Negotiation of land leases and rights to utilise land in France for the development of wind farms.
- In conjunction with other developers, identify potential joint venture opportunities in France and negotiate the terms of such joint venture arrangements.
- In conjunction with grid companies, assess the likely costs and feasibility of connecting potential wind farms.
- Undertake high level economic screening analysis of potential projects, using our client's economic analysis tools.
Education and Experience:
- Degree qualified, preferably in a numerical discipline
- Detailed knowledge of wind farm development process and experience of bringing projects through to financial close stage
- Proven track record of project managing a development pipeline
- A minimum of 3 years experience working on wind farm development

- Ability to present effectively business cases for development assets
- Willingness to travel and flexibility in working environment is a key requirement
- Fluency in French & English
- High levels of energy and self-motivation
